They Exist!

My school finally emailed me back!! The directors name is Rogelio. He didn't tell me anything I hadn't already looked up about the school, but he apologized for the long delay in getting back to me, since he was busy with the end of the semester. So at least now I know that I will definitely have a place to work in the fall, so that's one less thing to stress about.

Oh! And I got my diploma in the mail on Friday. It's all finally starting to seem real! 4 years of college - check. Spanish degree - check. Going to live and work in Spain in 2 months - check! Aaaaa :) Crazyness.

I.E.S. Bahía de Algeciras

I finally managed to find a description of the school I'll be working at!

There are 30 teachers, and 320 students ages 12 - 16.
I'm not quite sure what classes I'll be teaching, but they started the program in 2008 with only math and science, so by this time the program should be pretty well established. I'm hoping this means there are other auxiliares I can get in contact with!

Applying for a Visa

A couple of my friends and I had arranged a trip to Chicago for July 11th to get our Visa's. Well, now it's July 5th and none of us have gotten our Apostilles back yet. Apparently both the FBI and the Department of State are backed up on their requests, and so nobody is getting their documents back in time. This is not good news for me since I'm supposed to fly to Spain in less than 3 months. *cross your fingers for me*

Also, I emailed my school a month ago but I still haven't heard back. I wish I knew if this was just them running on Spanish time, or if there is a different email I should know about. I'd really like to know what grades I'll be teaching and what my schedule will be like.
